Are you a writer who wants to help us spread the word about #conservationoptimism and the Key Conservation app? Key Conservation is looking for an Editorial and Content intern who will work closely with the team to help showcase the ongoing development of the app, the conservation organizations that are Pilot Projects and build momentum as we lead up to the app launch.
Work with the Key Conservation team to develop exciting new content of the work being done behind the scenes at Key Conservation HQ, Key Conservation Pilot Projects, app development and more that will be featured on our social media platforms.
Coordinate interviews with Key Conservation team members, Pilot Projects, developers and Beta Testers
Compile research on interview subjects as needed and create clear interview scripts
Assist the videographer to help deliver a coherent message and story for outreach materials
Assist with creating MailChimp outlines to update supporters on the progress of the development of the Key Conservation app
Develop content to showcase how the features of the app will work and how conservation organizations and their supporters can use them.
Explore new ways to expand our social media presence
High school degree required
Excellent written and verbal skills
Writing experience required
Proficient with common social media platforms
Online/blog publishing experience prioritized
Must be a driven self-starter and be able to prioritize tasks well
Passion and optimism for the natural world a must, experience in the conservation field a plus but not required
Able to work in a fast-paced startup environment and be willing to be flexible
Must be able to work as part of a team
Hours and length: 3 months part-time (15-20 hours) per week. Schedule is flexible
This is an unpaid internship
Willing to provide internship credit if applicable
Location: Position will be based in San Diego, California. We are open to remote work for the right candidate.
